Prayer & Meditation Garden is Completed
October 15, 2011

The Prayer & Meditation Garden on the grounds of the church has been completed! The garden was the Eagle Project of churchmember Aleksandr Brown. It took two long workdays and a lot of volunteers to complete the project, and it looks beautiful! On the first workday, October 7, many Boy Scouts volunteered their time during their Fall Break from school. They removed sod and tore out plants and shrubs. On the second workday, October 15, 26 people volunteered to help. They planted sod, new flowerbeds, and built an arbor. They also installed an irrigation system for the flowerbeds and added benches and a birdbath.
Aleksandr received help from the Boy Scouts, his Scoutmaster, and many friends and family. He received generous donations of money, supplies, and even food and drink for the hungry (and thirsty!) crew. Aleksandr's fundraising for this project was so successful that he had money left over, which he donated to the church in order to buy more plants in the spring.
